Career Education at Ringwood Secondary College encompasses a tailored approach to career exploration to better prepare students for the world of work.

As the world of work continues to evolve, it is fundamental that innovative career education programs allow students to continue to build their 21st century skills and connect to industry and community.

Career Education at RSC provides students with innovative and practical classes where they can explore the world of work, understand jobs of the future, gain employability skills and have purposeful career conversations with qualified and experienced Careers Practitioners.

Programs & Support Services

From Year 7, Career Education is embedded into the school curriculum. Throughout each year, students learn to explore their interests, strengths, values, and personality type and how each element aligns with the world of work and their future aspirations.

  • Career lessons in the Positive Education program ‘BOUNCE’ for Years 7 to 12.
  • Career Action Plans for all students in Years 7-12 and support for all exiting and exited students.
  • Tailored, immersive and inclusive resources created just for RSC students.
  • One-on-one careers counselling with Year 10-12 students each year.
  • Year 9 Morrisby aptitude testing and profiling, online test and 1:1 career counselling for each Year 9 student.
  • Year 9 InterGREAT Career Education Classes to allow for the exploration of vast careers available beyond Year 12, engage students with industry partners and local community.
  • Extensive range of high-quality Vocational Education Training (VET) programs including partnerships with neighbouring TAFE Institutes, school, and local employment providers.
  • Highly successful Work Experience program for Year 10 students.
  • Work placement for VET students in partnership with the Outer Eastern Local Learning Network (OELLEN).
  • The Head Start program provides an opportunity for selected students to begin a school placed apprenticeship while completing their senior schooling.
