Community Engagement

Youth in Philanthropy Program

Year 10 students at Ringwood Secondary College have, for the past five years, been involved in the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation’s Youth in Philanthropy program. The program immerses students in the world of philanthropy, allowing them an allocation of real funds to distribute to charities that have requested funds for programs to benefit the most vulnerable in the community. The process encourages great debate and careful consideration of a number of factors, resulting in the broadening of student perspectives.

Student Volunteer Program

With the generous support of the Bendigo Bank Ringwood branch, we have partnered with Interchange Outer East (IOE) to provide our students with the training they need to volunteer their time with young disabled people on camps and excursions. The opportunity allows our students to develop skills in assisting those with disabilities, as well as communication, leadership and team work.
