Middle School
In the Middle School, there is a continuing core curriculum to ensure steady progress towards VCE subjects. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning in all studies and through their choice of electives.
Ringwood Secondary College offers students at Year 9 and 10 a diverse and relevant curriculum program taught by specialist teachers. The curriculum program has been designed to meet the diverse educational needs of the students and to provide them with stimulating and valuable learning experiences. Students study core subjects in line with the Strands/Domains as defined by the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) and select elective subjects according to their interests and strengths.
At the Year 9 level, all students take part in the InterGREAT program. Students are encouraged to reflect upon and articulate their individual Learning Goals which provides a wonderful opportunity for them to take responsibility for their own learning.
Laptop computers for every student have been integrated in all learning areas with an emphasis on building the capacity of learners to embrace the skills required in the 21st century.
